Celebrate the Season returns on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd, 2011, with family-friendly activities that will kick off your Holiday Season in Downtown Iowa City!
Summer of the Arts is helping the Downtown Association of Iowa City with this great event by providing volunteers in the Old Capitol Mall with the various event activities that will be taking place. Individual volunteer shifts are 1.5 to 2 hours in duration. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to sign up for more than one shift and volunteer in more than one area.
Dec 2: 4 shifts from 5-7pm in the Ped Mall helping with stage coordination and reindeer line coordination
Dec 3: shifts starting at 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, noon, 1:00pm, and 1:30pm for the refreshment table, cookie decorating station, gingerbread house display area, Santa's helpers, strolling carolers, and horse/carriage ride stations.
All volunteers must be age 13 or older.
Outdoor volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather.
All volunteers will be subject to a sexual offender background check.
