Check out the info on the new food pantry. If you have a car or transportation (i.e., bus, good friend), this is a great place with HUGE potential for impact.
There is a new food pantry in our area: the Coralville Ecumenical Food Pantry which was launched on Sept. 8th. Currently, the food pantry serves families identified through the Family Resource Centers at the two Coralville elementary schools. As a new nonprofit, the food pantry needs help from volunteers in areas like: stocking, picking up food, food drives, cleaning, and working while the pantry is open.
Their next information/training session (approximately 1 hour long) is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st at 7 PM at New Life Community Church in Coralville and they would welcome all potential volunteers. No need to call ahead or email in advance; just show up if you are interested in finding out more about this new service for needy families in our area and how you might be able to help out as a volunteer.
New Life Community Church is right next to the El Dorado Restaurant, in the same area as the old Lone Star and the new China Buffet. (right next to Walgreen’s in Coralville).
